Canberra Zeitgeist Day.
Beyond poverty, politics and war, “Zeitgeist Day”, or ZDAY for short, is an annual, global event day which occurs in the middle of March, each year. The goal is to increase public awareness of The Zeitgeist Movement and The Venus Project. Unlike many worthy projects around the world, the Zeitgeist Movement is global in scope, systemic in approach and supports a positive action plan to address the planetary financial and sustainability problems. This is one of the few movements for change that is inclusive of all communities coming together to work towards a common goal of social inclusion, real sustainability and long term prosperity for all people.
In 2009, there were over 450 events in over 70 countries. These events were well documented by news agencies across the world, including the New York Times in America. This years global awareness raising day, 'Zeitgeist Day', is on Sat 13th March. The Monetary System can coexist with abundance, high efficiency and environmental preservation?
FALSE! How can we have this notion when the Monetary System only rewards those who:
- Manufacture and sell products that are actually designed to break down and wear out (e.g. cars);
- Deliberately keeps supply low to keep profits up (e.g. Enron, oil, diamonds);
- Ignore pollution regulations and trash Mother Nature (incl. 3rd world countries) because it is economically justified.

This second Zeitgeist Day for Canberra comprises the screening of eye opening and inspiring Zeitgeist Addendum, guest speakers on peak oil, sustainable urban design, group discussion and more.
